Private William John Thomas Passons
One of 11 children he was born on the 18 June 1822 in White County, TN, the son of Major and Anna (Anderson) Passons.
Enlisted 24 May 1861, at Camp Harris, but was discharged due to overage provision of Conscript Act on 16 July 1862.
Is listed as a member of 1st Consolidated Regiment Tennessee Volunteers about 9 April 1865.
Filed fort a pension number #12938 that was granted.
Married Cecelia 'Celia' Rhodes on the 24 Jan 1842 in Van Buren Co, TN. She was 6 November 1823 and died 8 January 1873, on either the 24 or 27 January 1842 in Van Buren County, TN. She was the daughter of William and Eva (Rhodes) Grissom. They had at least five sons John Lee, Charles F., James Monroe, William Dalton and Major Passons. James Monroe and William Dalton also joined the 16th Tennessee.
He died in 2 February 1913 and is buried in Old Union Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, south of Sparta, White County, TN, along with his wife.
