Private Wallace (Wallis)
Born 24 April 1842 the son of James and Mary Jane (Polly) McPeak in White Co.
Enlisted on 21 May 1863 at Camp Harris, TN.
He was reared on a farm and worked as a farmer.
In 1860 he was living with the William Gleason Family as a farm labourer.
Died 30 August 1861, Huntersville, Pocahontas Co, (West) Virginia and is buried at the Huntersville Confederate Cemetery. (The cemetery, which holds 20 graves had been lost for many years. Over four years from Summer 2009 until 6 October 2012 the site has been cleaned, re-dedicated and gravestones added.)
There is a memorial to him in Simrell Cemetery, north of Rocky Island State Park, White Co, TN.
