Captain Harvey H. Dillard
K and F Companies

Born in 1834 the son of Reverend John Leath and Candis T. (Baker) Dillard.

Studied law and then became a well known lawyer in Cookeville.

From Putnam County, TN.

Enlisted 9 June 1861 at Camp Trousdale when he was also commissioned as Captain.

Released 8 May 1862 under the conscript law he was back in service by March 64 in Dalton, GA, as 1st Lieutenant.

He served on Colonel Donnell's staff as a major during the Chickamauga and Chattanooga campaigns.

After the war he returned to again practice law.

After the war he was to write a memoir that is included in the Military Annals of Tennessee.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cookeville.

He was not known to have married.

He finally died on the 30 September1904, at Granville, Jackson Co, and is buried in the Colonel Smith's Family Cemetery, Monterey, Jackson Co, TN.
