He enlisted on the 20 May 1861.

Discharged on account of Conscription Act 16 July 1862, overage. (The first Conscription Act, passed by the Confederate Congress on 16 April 1862, made all white males between the ages of eighteen and thirty-five eligible to be drafted into military service.)

Was a teamster.

He was born on 16 November 1820 in Warren Co, TN, his father believed named William Rogers.

He married Nancy Adaline Carder she was born in 1828 in Tennessee and died 6 September 1881 in Eureka Springs, Carroll Co, AR. They had ten children: James M., David F., Ephraim Hicks, Erasmus G., Belle Zora, Sophronia, William Jefferson, Charles William, Sarah J. and Amonel Davis Rogers.

He farmed in Taylorsville, TN, from about 1880 until his death in 1906.

He died 16 June 1906 and is buried in the Bellwood Cemetery, Bellwood, Wilson Co, TN.
