Lawson Moffatt (Moffitt Moffiett)
He was born in 1839 Van Buren County, TN, the son of William and Elizabeth (Cagle) Moffitt.
He enlisted in the Regiment on the 15 May 1861.
Was promoted to 2nd Corporal 8 May 1862.
Wounded slightly at the Battle of Perryville (Chaplin Hills), 8 October 1862, when part of the Colour Guard.
For some reason he up and walked away from the war on and then took Oath in Roane County during the month of December 1863.
Married Mary Ann Russell, born 15 July 1849 in Laurel Cove, Van Buren Co, and died 29 March 1945 in Laurel Cove, Van Buren Co,. They had three children: Alice Belle, Willian Thomas 'Bud' and Horace Moffitt.
Died in 1907 and is buried in Laurel Creek Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN, under the spelling of Moffitt.
