5th Sergeant Peter Bain
Born 10 August 1842 in DeKalb Co, TN, son of Henry Bain and Mary (Brolin) Bain.
He enlisted on the 21 May 1861.
Promoted to 5th Sergeant on the 21 May 1862 at that reorganization, re-enlisted for war.
He went home on the 21 December 1864 along with many others.
He took the Oath on the 9 February 1865.
He was a farmer.
Married Rosilla Sanders, born 20 February 1842 and died 6 September 1903, in 1839 and they had two children Purlor Eunice, and Cosmo Bain. (Rosilla was a full blood Cherokee Indian Princess.)
In 1880 they lived in Hale, Garland Co, Arkansas, before moving to Oklahoma.
He has an Arkansas pension, #22983, which was filed on the 13 August 1915 when he was in Garland Co, AR.
He died on the 6 September 1903 at Vallient, McCurtain Co, Oklahoma, and is buried at Vallient Cemetery, OK.
