Private Marshall Elkanah Adcock
He was was born 21 December 1839 in Dekalb Co, TN.
Enlisting in the Regiment on the 18 May1861.
Caught measles at Camp Trousdale and went home for 60 days.
He was elected 1st Corporal 8 May 1862 but was reduced to the ranks on 30 November 1862 by order of Lieutenant Colonel Donnell.
He was captured at Murfreesboro and sent to Camp Douglas, IL, and paroled at City Point, VA. 6 March 1863.
He reported back to duty prior to April 1863 muster.
Sent to hospital in January 1864.
He was left sick on the north side of the Duck River and went home on the 18 December 1964. (Was captured on the retreat from Battle of Nashville, 15-6 December 1864?).
Signed Oath of Allegiance 17 January 1865.
Applied for pension #6304 on 28 June 1906.
He married Sarah Elizabeth McAfee, born 24 June 1846, in Dekalb Co., died 130 December 1912 in Dekalb Co on the 10/ October 1864 Dekalb Co. They had 9 children: Mary Martelie, Louverna Emaline, David Laton, Thomas Walter, John Marshall, James Mitchell, Louie Dovie, Octie Elmira and William Elbert Adcock.
He and died on the 31 December 1924.
They are both buried in the Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, DeKalb Co, TN.
