Private William Dalton
He was born on 28 November 1842 the son of William John Thomas and Cecelia or Celia (Grissom) Passons.
No information of his service record is available.
Compelled to take the Oath rather than go to prison.
He filed for a pension number #12938 on the 26 June 1911 which was rejected.
He married Martha J. Wallace in 1866 (1870) she was born on 26 May 1842 in Hickory Valley and died on 16 December 1898 in White Co, TN. She was the daughter of William and Mahala (Fenton) Wallace. She had previously been married to James A. Swafford who was murdered. She and James had two children: Mollie and Emma Swafford. She and William had three children: Charles F., Fred and John Lee Passons.
With William she owned and operated the Central Hotel located on public square at Sparta.
He was admitted to the Old Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church 22 September 1883 while strangely enough granted a letter of dismissal on 18 November 1888 and joined again on 12 August 1909.
He died on 24 April 1913 and is buried in the Old Union Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in White Co, TN, as is his father and mother.
